Anyway, just wanted to give you a quick update about how the show went! We performed Tuesday night for a small audience. A few of my roommates came, which was really nice of them. The entire cast was a little nervous to be performing in front of people for the first time, but it wasn't so bad.
Last night was a Thanksgiving Dinner at the school - our audience ranged from 4 to 94! They were all served a nice dinner with turkey and stuffing (and we got to eat ours backstage).
We weren't very enthusiastic about going on at 9:45 at night (yikes!), but once we started...it was AMAZING. We had so much fun! Our audience was great, we were all very focused, and most importantly, we were having fun!
We had the entire show video taped last night, but I probably won't get a copy of that until next week. So I'll leave you with a video of "My New Philosophy," from a rehearsal a few nights ago. It's not 'perfect' and I was still working out some of my moves and such...but I'm happy with it! I had a great time playing Sally and I wish I would have had more time to fully develop the character more - but like I said, I was just having fun with it! I'm no Kristin Chenoweth (who played Sally in the Revival Cast - and won a Tony for her role!), and I didn't try to be her! I made this song my own....and "I like it!" (Oh, and PS. Our "Schroeder" actually played piano - he was amazing!!)
In the cartoon, "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," Snoopy and his pals make a cute dinner for the Peanuts gang with popcorn, jelly beans, and ice cream. Peppermint Patty gets really upset that there isn't a traditional dinner with turkey and cranberry sauce. But even if you're having ice cream and jelly beans for dinner tonight, then you should be thankful for that! The girls from the musical are coming over later to cook. Who knows what we're cooking, but I'm just glad to be able to hang out with some really neat people, who think I'm neat too. :)
Thanks for reading - I'm thankful for all of you readers out there, wherever (and whoever) you are!
